        Racine Baseball Cooperative Scholarship Program

Since 1997, the Racine Baseball Cooperative has awarded an annual Corporate Academic Scholarship. The funds for this scholarship are from RBC as well as through generous donations of local businesses and individuals.

The RBC places a strong emphasis on the student athlete. This theme is noted in our logo; a batter on an open book at home plate of a baseball diamond. We believe firmly that it is through a strong combination of academics and athletics that the young men who come through our program will become successful adults; both on and off the playing field.

Applications for this scholarship are provided to all qualified graduating seniors who are a U.S. citizen, is an active member of the RBC program (or has a parent or guardian actively serving the RBC Board) and who will enroll as a full-time student at a four-year college or university in the Fall following their graduation. Applications are screened based on academic achievement, extra-curricular activities as a curriculum requirement, volunteer activities in the community that are not required, sports participation, recommendation from a coach, a personal essay and a financial statement. The screening committee is comprised of 5 members not affiliated with RBC.

The scholarship award is $1,000.00 and is presented at the Annual RBC Awards Banquet held in August.

It is not an unusual sight on Saturday mornings to have college scouts at the hitting center scoping out the many talented players in our program. Many of our young men go on to play college ball and are offered financial assistance from the college/university they will attend.

RBC is proud to be able to offer an annual scholarship, and it would not be possible if not for the generosity of our donors.
